| Communications The district headquarters is not connected by the railway. There is no National Highway in the district Tikamgarh, the State Highway is about 187.40 Km. Of the road length, while the major district roads other district roads, Village roads covers 207.10 Km., 100.2 Km. And 838.70 Km respectively. Major District Roads The major district roads serve areas of production and markets, connecting them with one another or with the highways or the railways. These have been provided with a number of bridges, which are sufficient to keep the traffic going in the rainy seasons. The Important roads in this category are following.
Public Transport The district
headquarter is not connected by the railway. The passenger buses ply regularly on almost
all the main roads of the district. All the towns and big villages are directly connected
by the bus transport. The passenger buses are run by both MPSRTC and private bus owners. The years’ old dream of rail services of people of Tikamgarh changed in reality on Friday 26th April 2013 evening when the Tikamgarh-Jhansi passenger train via Lalitpur (TKMG-JHS-51817/JHS-TKMG- 51818) arrived at newly built Tikamgarh station. The train was sanctioned in 2012-13 rail budget.
Air Transport There is no facility
for air transport in the district. The nearest airport are those at Gwalior and Khajuraho,
which are linked by air with Delhi, Bhopal, Indore and Bombay. Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones There has been an acceleration in the development and expansion of the postal services since independence. At present there are one head Post Office, 19 Sub-post Offices and 164 Branch Offices in the District.
