Medical and Public Health Services
[Source- District Statistical Handbook -2003] Primary Health Centres In order to provide medical facilities to the rural population, a number of Primary health centres and sub centres were opened during the Second Five year Plan. They were mostly located in the Community development and National Extension Service Blocks areas. The table below show the number of hospitals, Primary Health Centres and Sub Centres in the district.
[Source- District Statistical Handbook -2003] Maternity and Child Welfare Centres There are three maternity and child welfare centre in the district. One of then is attached to the district headquarters hospital and other two are located at Jatara and Palera.
Ayurvedic Dispensaries There are 26 Ayurvedic dispensaries in the district. The Ayurvedic dispensaries are located at Tikamgarh, Kundeshwar, Kari, Sammarra, Kudila, Tarichar Kalan, Jeron, Dhilla, Tehrka, Chandera, Alampura, Hirapur, Gaur, Budera, Chuno, Bamhori Barana, Sendri, Jeor, Majna, Deori, Mendwara, Tonriya, Muhara, Neguwan, Ladwari and thona.
Homeopathic Dispensaries There are four homeopathic dispensaries in the district located at Tikamgarh, Mawai, Lidhora, Bhelsi.
Family Welfare Programme The district has in all 8 Family Welfare Centres. The Urban family Welfare Centre is attached to the District Hospital Tikamgarh while 6 rural centres are attached to the Primary Health Centres at Jatara, Niwari, Prithvipur, Palera, Badagaon, and Baldeogarh.
